I was working on a talking pig commercial where the character chews and talks.
The animator requested some type of control.
I made one very small change to my hierarchy to achieve it.

If you keep the muzzle and jaw unparented from each other you can manually control them individually.

I have a remap node to drive it if the jaw moves up past a certain point. I have a blend to turn it off and on. Animator prefers it off, but works a dream for chewing and talking animations. Again hit me up, if you want me to explain the system in full. Jason
