Tigers

I dont know i just love em...

Animation by the incredibly talented Kate Knott

Reusing The Fix Hind Leg Setup, Squash and Stretch.

So the Animator needed a reliable way to make the tiger crouching pose. Here I have reused a similar method to the horse however instead I have connected to the hind legs.

As you can see the same principle just applied a little bit different. Then used a remap to drive the system. The system still has a locator at the thigh and foot control that is constrained to a measurement distance node. The legs are much shorter to that of a equin anatomy, so i have halved the amount.

The remap kicks in when the distance is at half it gradually raises the leg to 35 degrees to accommodate crouching pose needed in the shot.

Seems to work great in squash and stretch in the fact it works when moving the foot up into the body or compressing the body respectively.

One added benefit is the foot now correctly positions it self, although just to be safe I've added a blend for the animator to counter it. I'm overall happy I could reuse the same modular setup on a more traditional quadruped.

Again if you need anything explained drop me a line. Jason
